Is Allianz Stock Worth Buying Despite Profit Decline?
Extreme weather in the form of severe storms brought the Allianz within the third quarter of business a profit decline, as the DAX company announced last week.
But for you in advance: This is by no means a reason to part with this quality paper. Let’s take a look at the results.
Costly natural disasters The Allianz had to spend almost 1.3 billion euros for the consequences of natural disasters in the third quarter, which was almost four times more than in the same period last year.
This had an impact on the operating profit. This fell by 15% to 3.5 billion euros. Analysts, however, expected a more pronounced decline to only 3.2 billion euros. Nevertheless, the operating profit was still above estimates.
Analysts had expected worse Analysts were accordingly positively surprised. Philip Kett of Jefferies titled the result as „all the more impressive, given that it was a quarter with above-average natural disaster losses.“
Allianz CEO Oliver Bäte, however, still sees his company on course to achieve the targeted operating profit of between 13.2 and 15.2 billion euros this year.
And that is not unlikely. After all, the interim result after the first nine months of the year is already around 11 billion euros.
Stock benefits from the numbers The share made a strong leap when the numbers were presented.
The Allianz share reached its highest level since September of this year at times on Friday. In the end, one can also emphasize that the title is one of the 15 best values in the Dax with a market value of almost 90 billion euros with around 13% plus in the current year.
My conclusion for you Despite the fact that Allianz is a defensive dividend title, the paper leaves more than half of its index colleagues behind and, with a market capitalization of almost 90 billion euros, is one of the five largest members of the German leading index.
The numbers have convinced – and this despite all the burdens from natural disasters!
Regular Daily readers already know that I am a big fan of the Allianz share. Solid price gains meet a hefty dividend, which is regularly increased. A paper for dividend fans, which you can buy and leave for the long term.
