Fielmann stock: back on track in 2024?
The Fielmann share has had a very successful year on the stock market in 2023. On an annual basis, the stock has gained around 26 percent and is therefore one of the winners of the MDAX. Despite a weaker start to the year in 2024, the share is currently trading at just under 47 euros (as of January 3, 2024, around 11 am).
But what does this year hold for the optician chain? The goals of the past fiscal year seem achievable based on the nine-month figures. With continued growth momentum and an effective cost-cutting program, the Fielmann share could continue to rise – although perhaps not as strongly as in 2023. In the long term, other factors will be crucial for investors.
Fielmann is on a good path After 9 months of the 2023 fiscal year, Fielmann presented very respectable figures. External sales were at 1.73 billion euros and EBITDA increased by almost 27 percent to around 339 million euros. The net profit of just under 115 million euros also significantly exceeded the previous year’s result.
The annual targets raised after the completed US acquisition now seem achievable for Fielmann. Sales are forecast at 2.3 billion euros and EBITDA at 400 million euros. Given the company’s development, the medium-term targets of „Vision 2025“ also appear to be rather conservative. By 2025, Fielmann aims to achieve external sales of 2.3 billion euros and have 30 million customers.
Fielmann share: potential for investors – especially in the long term After the recent strong performance, investors should not expect any miracles in 2024. Nevertheless, the long-standing success story could continue to rise this year. Optimistic analyses, such as those from Baader Bank, see a price target of 58 euros for the Fielmann share – which still represents a potential increase of almost 25 percent.
In the long term, two aspects are important for investors: With the US acquisition, Fielmann has gained access to one of the world’s largest markets – this could be the first step for enormous growth potential. In addition, the optician and audiology chain benefits from demographic change. If Fielmann succeeds in securing a lasting market share, this will also support the Fielmann share in the long term.
